robby noll…
With hands-on experience in construction from high school through college, and a bachelors in business administration from Mary Washington College, Noll went to work with commercial property developer WJ Vakos and Company in Fredericksburg, VA in 1988. He made a move to Charlottesville, VA in 1992 to work with the developer & property management company Management Service Corporation until he, along with Ian Wren, purchased Real Property Inc. (RPI) in 1995. In 1997 Noll & Wren purchased Property Management of Virginia adding it to RPI. They continue to oversee its operations in Waynesboro, Virginia. Along with Wren, Noll fostered the growth of RPI from a small $250,000 company to the largest fee property management company in Central Virginia. In 2008, Noll and Wren sold RPI to its current shareholders. Noll is a licensed Class A general contractor and real estate broker.
Along with over 20 years of experience in investment-property development, construction, leasing and management, Noll has been involved as president of the Charlottesville Downtown Foundation, chairman of the Charlottesville Industrial Development Authority, chair of facilities oversight for Christ Episcopal Church, and a coach for the Soccer Organization of Charlottesville Albemarle.
Noll lives just outside the city of Charlottesville with his wife Susan & two daughters.
ian wren…
Ian was raised in Arlington, Virginia, and is a University of Virginia graduate with a double major in History and Religion & a minor in Anthropology. Wren served as the Manager of University Dining Services, Catering Division, responsible for scheduling and personnel management of 75 employees. He then travelled with his future wife throughout the United States before returning to Charlottesville. He worked at Real Property Inc. from 1991 until he and Robby Noll purchased RPI in 1995. They bought RPI with one employee and a $250,000 budget and sold it in 2008 with 38 employees and $3,850,000 budget. Wren was the CFO and Senior Property Manager, responsible for all aspects of the Property Management Division of RPI, including the management of all accounting and financial operations, 675 units of scattered-site residential management, a variety of commercial properties, and over 2000 units of Association management.
Before and during ownership of Real Property Inc., Wren obtained real estate brokerage licensure, studied for his CPM designation, and purchased Property Management of VA in Waynesboro. All the while, Wren & Noll were acquiring and developing commercial and residential investment property.
Wren lives just south of Charlottesville in North Garden, VA with wife and 3 children and is active in the local soccer league as a player and coach.
reid murphy…
Reid has 10 years of experience managing real estate investment partnerships. Murphy graduated from Washington & Lee in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in religious studies with a high concentration in philosophy. Upon graduation he went into full-time ministry with Young Life in Danville, VA and then in Charlottesville, VA. In 2001 Murphy returned to graduate school, receiving a Masters in Urban & Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia’s School of Architecture in 2003.
While not a general contractor, Murphy has the experience of building his own home and serving as the general contractor during the complete renovation of another. He also has a background in subdivision development and land planning, serving as the project manager for the development of the Mountain Harvest Farms subdivision in western Albemarle County, VA. He is currently the manager of two real estate investment partnerships. He joined The Building Management Co. in January 2011 focusing on feasibility analysis and investor/partnership structuring.
Murphy has held several leadership positions at his church including Director of Family Ministries. He is a volunteer with Henley Middle School WyldLife and is actively involved as a player and coach in local soccer and leagues.
When he is not working Reid is often coaching or playing soccer or enjoying the outdoors with his wife and four children.
